Privacy

It's hard to keep anything private in today's society. With the advancement in technology, a lot of concern has been raised on users privacy. We give a lot of personal information away to big tech companies like Google and Facebook. Apps even ask for access to certain functions and data. These companies have a wealth of information not just about our habit online, but of our personal lives as well. This information is sold off to other companies so they can market their products to the users. This data can create a profile of the user's habits and personality which can be used in marketing campaigns. Sometimes, this information is leaked. Facebook has multiple leaks and breaches of their data, which contains a lot of personal information. Almost nothing will be confidential either. Mark Zuckerberg own family had trouble making their pictures private. As technology gets elaborate, there will be people who are unable to keep things private or confidential.  There will also be individuals who would seek this information for malicious intent- hackers. They can hack into any system and steal information. as long as they have the technical knowledge, they can break into anything. Equifax Data Breach had 146 million social security numbers and other personal information of these individuals exposed.  This is a company that should have the best protection for this sensitive information, and yet they were hacked. Thus, even with the best security and the deep pockets to enforce that security, virtually any information you put out is at risk. Thus, people should be cautious about what information they put online.
